So here we are – another new year and we are already half way through the first month. I didn’t make any New Years resolutions this year; I have been too busy with making some massive changes in my life. For those of you who don’t know, in September we sold our house (after our last daughter moved out) and decided now was the time we took a gap year (or five!!). We have bought a large Motorhome or RV as you guys in the US would call it and plan to do a lot of travelling. Fortunately, as I work from home anyway, I can continue my online business as we travel.
However, things don’t always go to plan and we have had a few problems with the van (as we now call it) and quite a few problems with internet connection. I think we are quite behind in England with our wi-fi or broadband mobile connections than in the US.
But back to the point of this article! We are in the middle of January already. Time is rushing past me and after reading my daughter Louise’s article about her intentions for 2011, I felt that I needed to do the same. So here are my intentions for the direction I want my business to take this year.
1 I feel that last year I was constantly thinking of ways to monetize my work, instead of what I am fully aware I should have been doing, which was concentrating on giving value to my customers. So this year I intend to offer my customers and subscribers lots of helpful tips, advice and resources, along with a few freebies!
2 I am going to be myself! It is so easy to sit behind a computer and be whoever you want to be. But Attraction Marketing is all about being authentic. I am who I am and that is fine with me!
I’m a little bit messy; I never know what to do with my hair; I’m easygoing and sometimes I speak my mind just a little too much! Some men are scared of me (I don’t know why, lol) and I have been known to have swearing matches with my daughters, which they usually win! Oh and I plan to grow old disgracefully!! But that’s me! Like me or leave me!
3 I am not going to promote anything I don’t use or believe in completely! When you are new online and someone tells you to do something you often do it because you don’t know any different. But I do now, and I refuse to put my name to a product that is not up to scratch. I have been bitten many times and wasted lots of money on products that have been of little or no help.
One particular product that comes to mind cost me £1,000 and so far has made me no money at all. I bought this product in good faith but received almost no help when I asked for it (several times) after discovering large chunks of information were missing in the training. And according to the seller, I should have found it easy as I had been online for some time!
So – never again. Always do your due diligence on any product you are considering buying. At the very least Google it!!
4 I am going to make a plan. In fact I will make it today Well maybe tomorrow lol! But I will definitely be making one!Image may be NSFW.

I am going to get down in writing what work I will do each day, each week and each month, so that I know exactly what to do each day. The absolute worst thing I did last year was not enough planning.
To just get your computer out and think ‘what shall I do now’ is absolutely crazy and yet that is what I did on too many days! And I checked my emails first!! BIG mistake! So from now on its follow the plan first then when i’ve done all the day’s work, check emails and surf Facebook!!
5 I want this to be a happy year:-) I want everyone to smile. I try to as much as possible; in fact people sometimes look at me as though I were crazy because I smile at complete strangers. Laughing is good for you!! Let’s all have more fun and smile more! Just put a smile on your face now and see how much better you feel for it. Then pass it on!!
So that’s about it! My plans for 2011! I’m sure I will be adding to them over the coming months but that is a pretty good start to my intentions! Thanks Louise for giving me that kick up the butt!!
